I know that UVA is sponsered by gait. In my opinion, their helmets are hidious. I am wondering if the players are allowed to wear cascade helmets or any other brands

no bu duke i think has a deal because i sometimes see guys wearing cpxs instead of triumphs (matt danowski) but they ma change this year

i heard they had fitting problems with the triumphs for some people.

I don't think so, all of their players I've seen have been using gait, but I might be wrong... That would stink for instance if you are a warrior follower and your college is sponsored by say, brine and so you have to use only brine gear ect... can anyone verify me on this one?

you can play with whatever you want but if it isn't brine for instance you have to purchase it with your own money.

Doubt it, if you could just buy your own equipment then I garentee you atleast some of the players would just buy a CPX.

well alot of UVA players use warrior heads and such but I think most of their equipment is from Gait

well,

using a helmet other than team issued would require the player to purchase his own, unless he had special needs... ie size and vision restrictions.

in the ncaa as long as the helmet colors conform to the rules you cna wear whatever helmet you like
same goes for gear. players in the ncaa are encouraged to use their sponsors gear but not required to use it

Those helmets make the virginia players look like birds. IMO.
For duke, yeah i think they had fitting problems with the triumphs or something. Those defenders have big domes.
