Let's see, I think im getting worse. I mean, look at the lay-out of the past week:
Try-outs: Beat the top D-man on varsity in 1 on 1's
First practice: Did pretty good, showed off some skills(ie left hand)
Second practice: SUCKED at split dodges and 1 on 1's
Third practice:........ I sucked. I lost ground balls to horrible people, I couldnt pass all tht great, I lost almost all my 1 on 1's

WHAT IS HAPPENIN????
In case this helps, it's my first year playin in high skool, im still trying to get my stick to shoot right, and I'm not all tht fast.

Help on what to do?

Alex

whats probably happening is that you are losing confidence in your skills. Just try to keep a short memory when it comes to these sort of things.

^^ i agree.

the problem is you have one bad practice(which is normal) then you start to get down on yourself and by next practice you lost all cofidence in your self and by thinking you are getting worse you will be playing worse. its all mental when it comes to sports. just regain confidence and you will be fine.
trust me this happens to me aalloott in lacrosse and skiing, for skiing when your about to try a new trick( i only ski park) it can be scary especially when your going of of a nice 30ft jump trying a 720 or trying some sketchy urban rail or something, the thing is you cant stand in the drop in area and think to your self" i cant do this, this is to hard" you have to make your self belive you can do the trick and im not talking just saying to yourself "i can do this"(which is part of the process) but you actually have to make yourself belive 100% you can actaully do it and then you will probally land it and realize that you were scared for no reason.

Again sports is probally 60% physical 40% mental.

oh and this is also refered to as a "slump"good luck at your next practice i hope this helped.

oh and was the " is there SUCK a thing" in your title a pun(i cant belive i actually used that word) or a typo??

dont get all worked up after a tryout and three practices. as said above, just put it behind you and have a short memory, like a goalie or a QB in football, or almost any position in any sport. you cant let past experiences dictate how you view the present and future. above all, dont lose your confidence.

Wow thank you for this I been in a lump past two days after a game were i missed a goal due to a bad pass but also partly my fault! SO I'll keep this in my mind because i have a game tomorrow and I'm still in my position!

So I'vee just had a stretched out "bad day"? Should I practice extra or just keep going normal?

PS: The "is ther suck a thing" WAS SUPPOSED to be is there such a thing, but i like tht little pun, it's punny!!!(Lang. Art's teachers never tell you good jokes. Do they?)

just relax and don't get too full of yourself if you have a good practice or game.
