I, through a series of unfortunate events, got placed onto a team I have been told I don't belong on. I was just wondering how I can make the best out of my season.

......as in the other players do not accept you and do not want you on their team? If that's the issue, you may have a very hard season, but I don't really know what other options are open to you, your post is a bit vague.
If you're on, say, V-squad, then the acceptance issue is usually worse and if you want more cumulative/quality playing time, ask to move down a level. If you are on JV and want to move up, just enjoy yourself and if your skills show through your coach will move you up. You can usually ask to move down, but not to move up. But, like I said, I don't really understand your situation from the given details.

i think i might have a similar situation. i got selected for u15 A team as the 1 goalie. in doing so i kicked the A team goalie from last year off. i had my first practice yesterday, other team members havnt really said anything to me. i guess only time will tell...

in all cases just prove that you can make the players around you better, eventually if your teammates start scoring off of passes from you and you guys start winning then they'll warm up quick. If there bad then you as a player need to step up and become a playmaker.

I think he means the kids on the team dont like him..? but any way its life bro get over it.. in time you'll have freinds. They have probably been together for a long time.. nothing you can do about it.

so much for trying not to sound arrogant, but i meant that i am at a higher skill level than the kids on the team. i pissed off the coaches kid and so he didnt pick me.

well man i mean...i dont know haha. just, and this is what i would do, got and own the heck out of the teams you play, just so you make him regret not picking you. even if your team doesnt win(assuming this si a lower level because you guys just picked teams, unless you mean like JV and Varsity) just you personally own. this way he will know he made the worng decision.
