Who do you guys think the best goalie is in D1 this year. I like UMBC's goalie Belvins. He's a stud. He's way small and had an amazing game agaisnt Denver. He made 20 saves. But Hopkins goalie Gvozden is also looking real good. And Alex Hewit really disappointed me this weekend agaisnt Hopkins. I know they have some amazing shooters and are ranked number 1 in the nation, but sometimes you have to step up and make some saves. He only had 12 save and 14 goals. I didn't see one big save that game from him. What are your guys thoughts.

I like gvozden, he has really come up big for JHU. Navys goalie is also a beast, he makes A LOT of point blank saves. So i think its between those two.

The Freshmen Hagelin has been pretty sick for loyola, Brian Phipps had a bunch of good saves against Duke even though they lost, UVA's freshmen has been real dissappointing (13 goals against Stony brook thats not to impressive) And I thought Cuse's goalie did poorly in the seconded half for them, most of the 3rd quarter he didn't make a save. And of course UMBC's goalie is my favorite he's amazing

Dan Loftus is just about the best goalie out there right now. i've seen him play in person several times, and he never ceases to impress me with his quick hands and aggressive outlets.

Gvozden, Loftus, Schneider, Blevis, and Phipps are really impressive Galloway and Ghitemal did ok but you can tell they are freshman making some mistakes

ghitelman and galloway are great goaltenders dont get me wrong, but i do agree that they are still freshmen and learning. not that that takes away anything from them.

phipps was great last year, but he still made a few mistakes ya know.

Dan Loftus is just a solid Keeper. he is hands down the best keeper in the country, not just because he has really good hands... but because he's a great leader, talks well, clears well, and is the most fundamentally sound goaltender i've seen in the college game for about four or five years now.

I was thinking the same but with Alex Hewit its hard to play agianst the #1 ranked team. And by the way i met him after the game at a postgame dinner thing that was a great day for me!

Loftus isnt the best keeper in the country it might just seem like that because of who is in front with Mcdevitt Danowski Greer and others hands down all together dike is the best team in the country

I do like Queener. I like how aggressive he his out of the cage, and is he not playing on the emo squad this year?Queener sould try to focuse more on stoping shots than running down the feild.

Hewitt just had a game where his team got pounded on. He's gonna come back big for the Tigers, I'm certain. Gzovden has so far proven himself to be an excellent asset to Hopkins, especially considering it's only his first year starting. And Ghitelman and Galloway really stepped up for their respective teams, showing A LOT of young talent amongst the goalies. Matt Coughlin of Navy might not put up the best numbers, but he's a great goalie. Loftus, Kemp, you know the rest, all continue to play great.

I'm interested in what you guys think. Galloway vs. Ghitelman for the freshmen and Phipps vs. Gzovden for the sophomores. Which do you think is better?

For Galloway vs. Ghitelman. So far, Galloway has statistically proven himself to be the better goalie. I want to say that overall Ghitelman is better, but he's gotta prove it, and in my opinion he has yet to.

Phipps vs. Gzovden is tough. I see them both doing great things for their alma maters, and Phipps already has the extra year of starting experience. But Gzovden, man, he's a beast. I'm going Gzovden on this one.
