Through the magic of internet networking I generated enough interest in having an Alumni vs. Current Team game at my high school alma mater to have the Athletic Director jump on board. The old athletic director cited liability issues etc. as the reason why the lacrosse program couldn't have an alumni game. So after years of this game being put on hold the new AD loves the idea and thinks it would be a great way to raise money for the program. I have sort of fallen into the role of "head planner" and would really appreciate any suggestions you guys/girls can offer, especially from past successes. We are obviously gonna have a game and probably some sort of t-shirt with an alumni game logo, but beyond that I am looking for any fresh or creative ideas my fellow laxers may have. Again all thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated. THANKS

Gather an e-mail list of all interested players to keep them informed on the game. Does the school have a lacrosse booster club? If so they should be involved too. Our town's alumni game goes on sort of like this.
The alumni get e-mailed pretty far in advance to the game.
Follow up e-mails / confirming players as game gets closer
The day starts off with the youth league playing a few games
Then the girls alumni play
then the guys alumni play
The whole time there is usually a tent selling food, a tent selling lacrosse gear, and then any participants get a free t-shirt. It's usually a pretty good time but by having it coincide with the youth league it brings in a pretty large crowd and the young kids like watching the older players (some of which are there coaches)

That is a really good idea, right under my nose and I didn't think of it. The AD is actually the head of the youth program so that should be easy to incorporate. Thanks man.
