OT, but: byu's a great program, but I think STRONGLY about the impact on your social life if you went there to play (I remember lots of wives and kids on the sidelines when we played).

anyway, most programs have a website where you can get the coach's contact info. at Florida, we didn't really go out of our way to recruit out-of-state since MCLA teams don't give scholarships. we focused on pipeline programs within the state (we had the majority of our players from 4-5 HS's). OOS players were only recruited when THEY initiated.

if you have skills, you can play anywhere. The schools you mentioned are top institutions both academically as well lax wise in the MCLA context. I'm sure you will have a great time anywhere you go if your priorites are straight

im pretty sure the really legit MCLA teams still allow whoever is decent be on the team, its just the dues and the academics that would get in your way. however i wouldnt really keep BYU in mind if you are not Mormon, i think like only 3% of the student body is something other than mormon

Schools like BYU, Colorado State, Colorado, etc. have a ton of kids try out and have to make a big amount of cuts every year. Kids have to try out to pay $3000. I can't speak for exactly what these schools are like, but I know a few people who tried out for the team at Michigan State, and around 90 kids tried out, with only 40 making it. And that's for a team that's barely in the top 25 for the MCLA.

Big time programs like BYU, CSU, Oregon, etc do make cuts, but still keep extremely large rosters. I wouldn't be too worried about being cut from a team unless you've only got a year or two of low-level HS lacrosse under your belt.
Even if they do "cut" you, I think most of them still keep practice squads around that pay very little. If for some reason you do get cut, you'd have a chance to work your way off the practice squad and onto their roster.

wow thanks for the amazing responses.
I've played in Wisconsin with a friend for 3 months and honestly the level of lacrosse is so much lower than around here. Once again, thanks.

careful making blanket statements like that. While it is generally accepted that the east coast has more better players than elsewhere; keep in mind that others can play, and at a high level too.
