G-towns D is doing real well, and there keeper is having a great day so far. Cuse's offensejust doesn't seem to be clicking. Abbot had a nice swim but rang the pipe on the far side :(

Syracuse seems like they aren't trying. Nobody's really pushing the ball (except for Nims), and nobodys really playing with any emotion. Somebody better light a fire underneath them for the second half.

G-town scored.... again... Cuse is having a lot of chances and are taking a lot more shots, but aren't getting them in. Miles kass(spelling?) is having a great day.

6-3 g-town

lax-crazy
03-09-2008, 04:13 PM
ugh..... no... check IL.com

the 3rd ended kinda flat, Cuse is having lots of chances but the ball just isn't bouncing there way. Lots of pipes. I think hardy already has rang it 3-4 times, abbot a few, and Nims a few times.

Also parrit just hurt his knee, he walked off on a time out. I guess he is back in.... I dunno, but he was hurt.. but isn't now, I guess he is like wolverine or something.

12:41 left in the 4th.

this is really going back and forth. Cuse stiped a G-town player, G-town rode Cuse got a failure to advance and it's back to G-town. This is a great game.

oZOMG amazing I love syracuse. poor goergetown is a habitual underperformer, especially considering their recruiting classes. But syracuse has been great so far. In the top five, do you think?
And haha whenever I see loftus I think dan the goalie from Duke. It always messes me up.

lax-crazy
03-09-2008, 04:53 PM
wow the end of the game stats are nuts shots: 57cuse 26Gtown face offs: 17 Cuse Gtown 4. Cuse dominated in everything but finishing really, had a lot of pipes and a Miles Kass had a lot of saves. Good game though and Go Cuse.

JaxLaxdefender8

This kills Georgetown's momentum coming into the game against the undefeated Blue Hens. NIIIIIIIIIIIIICEEEE

Who thinks this could put Syracuse ahead of Johns Hopkins in the rankings, with JHU's loss to Hofstra?

ALEX WIZ
03-09-2008, 06:06 PM
It wasn't an awesome game cuse couldn't hit the goal if there life depended on it. For a cuse fan this was one of the worst games to be at and Gtown should have won. I am one of the biggest syracuse fans but they played less than good today besides a few of them.

mullengoal141
03-09-2008, 06:16 PM
im actually disappointed, because well... this means that syracuse next week will be saying " we can play less than well and still win, oh well.

nims loftus brooks and leveille look like the only ones that care out there.

everyone else just wants to sit around, no one else seems to be hustling, or even shooting that well.

and miles kass... 19 saves? way to go. he is the perennial underperformer, and he just had the game of his life.... like coluccini last year against cornell

jdturtle02
03-09-2008, 06:25 PM
I didn't see the game, but mullengoal141's comment seems consistent with the box score. We saw last week how Syracuse can find the net, and the Orange sure scored today when they had to ... what, five goals in the fourth quarter to force overtime? Ditto on the Kass Kudos ... he's good. BTW, that's a great avatar ... having flashbacks to a certain little one at diaper time ... ugh! Cracking up over here ...

lax-crazy
03-09-2008, 06:34 PM
ugh...... they just couldn't find the net.... Matt abbot did well on clears and on many things, the offense was struggling a bit. The D was doing well and Sid smith had some nice gbs/ snagged passes. I mean Cuse could have won by a lot if they made 1/4 of those pipe shots.

Saying Cuse should have lost is a bit rediculous man. They dominated... dominated in everything but shot%. 17 to 4 face offs? 57 shots to Gtowns 26? beating them in Gbs. Loftus found his stride which is good, he had a big day, and so did Miles Kass. So I don't get where you say they deserved to lose. Gtowns goalie was doing AMAZING and cuse still pulled it together, kept there heads in it and pulled out a W. The fact that Cuse came back is amazing considering they were shooting poorly. You have to give it to a team that stays that determind to win through a bad day of shooting.

DJ Death
03-09-2008, 06:58 PM
that's true, although i will say that shooting 9 for 57 compared to 8 for 26 is a pretty terrible stat...

and i said it was an awesome game because watching 'cuse claw their way into the win column was awesome. to be honest, it wouldn't have been as awesome if 'cuse played well throughout the game and won by either a sizable lead or a small one. coming back to win from behind is the epitome of an awesome game. take super bowl XLII for example.

The only reason I think they won was the faceoffs. And if it was the other ways around on FO can you say they would have won?

did you see they also beat they on Gbs by 20? would you say the same thing if Miles Kass had 10 saves instead of 19?

no doubt syracuse was great in most aspects of the game, but their shooting percentage was almost as bad if not worse than georgetown's against maryland... i'll have to check the facts on that.

but seriously, half the syracuse playersplayed their hearts out today, but they really really need to find some way to up that shooting percentage if they want to beat hop next week. which i think they can do in all honesty.

ekajsk8er
03-09-2008, 08:23 PM
Does anyone know why Sid Smith wasn't guarding Cannon today? He's by far Syracuses best pole, and Cannon is G'Towns best attackman. I guess everything worked out fine, kinda, but Sid would have done a better job the Guadagnolo.

of those 57 shots everyone is talking about...only 28 were on goal (9G + 19saves). Thats almost half of their shots not even coming close to a 6'x6' target...
while cuse has definately improved compared to last year, I agree with the WIZ...they looked...not so good...
wait till they play hopkins next week...the syracuse swagger will get a beat down

shots that hit the pipes are not "shots on goal" for it to be a SOG, the goalie must have made a save.

for it to be a SOG it must have had the possibilty of crossing the plane of the goal. that excludes anything that hits the pipe and rebounds away

Didn't see the game

how can you say there shots came no where near the goal if you didnt see it? Or say that you agree to them playing well?

They had a bad shooting day... that's it... was there D bad? no. Was there clearing bad? no. Was there head heart and hustle bad? no. Where there face offs or GBs bad? no. It was there shooting, they were getting a bit unlucky.
