I'm fairly new to the sport and was wondering if you are capable of wearing glasses in this game ie. fitting in the helmet right..Also I was wondering if it would cause any danger in doing so...or even getting them bent or snapped while playing. Would wearing glasses during the game impair your performance at all..besides the lack of peripheral vision?? Thanks in advance

ive seen kids do it but they just look funny i think contacts would just be better and i think they could come off if you get checked

I have wore glasses under my helmet, I have never had them bent or broken under my helmet. I would recommend contacts, but it is your choice.

I'm wearing my glasses under my helmet now, because I've run out of contacts and haven't got new ones yet. I never have a problem, I often forget I'm wearing them, but its certainly harder taking your helmet off or putting it on.

I used to wear glasses under my helmet until i got contacts. Like ByrdDpole said, it can make putting on and taking off the helmet difficult at times, but it's manageable. The only real problem is when you get sweaty, it may start to slide down.
Other than that, I don't really know of any hazard or impairment that can come from it.

contacts would probably be your best bet, but i've seen plenty of glasses under helmets, and it doesn't seem to be a problem (i thought that this one kid looked pretty goofy, but then he turned out to be Sick-Nasty on the field, so i didn't question the glasses.)

ive worn glasses under my helmet for years. see if you can find some with long cable temples. they wont budge. i had some in HS and college and the temples wrapped almost all the way around my ear. they NEVER came off regardless of how big a hit i'd given or taken.

As mentioned, contacts are easier to deal with, if you are able to get those. If not, for me wearing glasses under my helmet did not bother me too much. Other than the before-mentioned hassle of putting on and removing one's helmet. Otherwise it shouldn't be a problem.

I remember when I was young before I could get contacts, they made the sport goggles.
I wore glasses a couple of times but didn't like them compared to the goggles back then.
Thank god contacts came out.

That was my biggest problem with glasses. Now I have contacts and there's no problem, but that was the worst. And since getitng your helemt is now ahrder becuase of the glasses, it was ahrd to clan them.

If you can, get contacts

Does anyone wear glasses with their helmet on? Its to pricey for me to get contacts because I have astigmatism so I wear my glasses all the time it only sucks when sweat and my glasses start sliding down

I wear them all the time. I sometimes used this little band that would attach to the side parts and you could wear it around your head. Worked well in keeping them on properly.

I dont have horrible vision, but I do wear glasses, and I usually dont wear mine. Im sure sometimes if I did wear them I might be able to better pick passes or make harder catches, but I dont notice my play droping enough to make a difference.

I want contacts, but I too have issues restraining me from getting them.

Does anyone who wear theres in play have issues when you get rocked with them coming off, loose or breaking?

My glasses would like fall off a bit if I get hit hard but hopefully it won't break or there goes my eyes

I wear glasses all the time when I'm playing, considering I have pretty bad vision. My glasses fit well, so sliding isn't an issue. When I get rocked they move a little, but it doesn't really annoy me, considering I've worn glasses for 8 years now.

I used to wear Oakley Razer under my helmet until I got a visor. Not to look cool, but to reduce the brightness.

the only thing i noticed while wearing glass was, like everyone else has said, they would slide down. but when that happened it was always during movement and i didnt notice til after the play was over

the thing i hated was when i put my helmet on sometimes a smudge would get on the glasses so i had to deal with that until i came off the field again...or when a drop of sweat would run down them ha that drove me nuts

nothing with breaking/bending though...i cant wear them with my cpx though which sucks cause i dont always want to wear my contacts

I got some sport goggles. They are a cool looking Ti color, and they are polarized, so they get dark when it's sunny. They aren't hard to manage either.
