Hey everyone, new to this forum, new to lax. Kinda. I'm sticking to cheap but good sticks to get better, if i make a team I'll get a better stick. I have a Gait Icon right now... the head is nice, so I'm thinking of getting a defense shaft and keeping the head.
First and Foremost,
Is a d-pole a defense stick???
I can do some standard stuff on my short stick. Shooting, catching, scooping ok, and...cradling. Is cradling also when lax players like spin the stick while running? not like verticle but like the stick is actually rotating.
Anyways, can someone recommend me a good but cheap defense shaft or complete d-stick that i can use for now? I'm on a budget of 50$ below. Thanks!

ya a dpole is a defense stick. for your icon get a stx steel 7000 good beginner shaft for under 50 even pole wise...

I think that's an attack shaft. I'm currently looking at the warrior 6000 one thats like 30 bucks. Looks okay...

no the 6000 is the same as the shaft your icon is on if you want to spend $60 you can get a vanadim dpole judging from my attack shaft they will be real light and they have amazing grip.
also you can get an stx steel in a dpole for around $60

Wow thanks guys. I found it! So, my big question is whether to get the stx steel or the stx vanadium pole. As far as color goes...whats good? Like isn't chrome more pro? or black or something? not green or red or blue right...

another good option is the warrior cu31 also known as platinum alloy.

Defiantley look at the Vanadium. I broke a cheap Warrior, a Brine F10 Power Grip, and two Crankshafts in my first season. STX finally sent me a Vanadium and it's awesome. No dents or bends yet (knock on wood). My coach has he Steel and it's pretty nice but I would go with Vanadium if you can.

Vanadium. More reliable and what not.
I have seen Steels be tanks, and Steels bend in a single practice.
vandium all the way. I got one nd i luv it. its light and strong 4 the price plus it has amazing grip.

The Icon is a decent head, especially for defense. I used it for a little while.
For now, stick with that and go with the Vanadium. IMO (In my opinion) they feel like better shafts than the STX Steel.
If you do make the team, than you can really invest and always keep this stick as your back-up.

If you are really interested in lacrosse and looking forward to play for a while, you should think about spending for a kryptolyte or krypto pro, so that you dont waste your money on getting a couple cheap shafts. i first got the STX AL6000. I was strapped for cash as well but i got the kryptolyte instead of getting another aluminum shaft when it bent. So just think of it that way.
