yesterday my team had a scrimmage for the first tim this year. it ended with us losing 2-1. the other goalie had only two shots on him and made one safe, after the game his team treated him like a god. our goalie on the other hand had 23 safes and i felt i was the only one who gave him credit. it wasnt the defense'sfault that there were so many shots, it was just our offense had 2, shots which is awful. anyway any ideas how i could get my team to respect our keeper a little bit(being a former goalie i feel awful he got no credit fo such a good game.

You could tell your coach to tell the team what a good job he did.

i would say like if you guys are just chatting or whatever and of course the game would come up and you bring up like how it may look bad but realistically it was like amazing so just yourself can make everyone realize how much credit he really deserves it could have been a 15-1 game hes the one that kept you guys in it.

our team does "rub offs" after games, you know so we can say who did a good job and stuff. maybe you can say something like that and back it up with those facts, i dont think anyone could deny that.

ive had this happen to me as well, and the coach should also realize this, and you can also say that he did an amazing job in front of the team. then if anybody says anything you can just bring up how many saves he had and that he completely saved the game. if he did what the other goalie did the score would have been 24-1.

i tried to hype him up a little at our three-a-day practice today(lots of running) anyway, i think he was given a bit more credit than before but not as much as he deserves. i also talked to the coach and the coach said "that team wasnt that great, but neither are we so he should have that many saves."that team was awful. not to be conceited me and about five kids including me are actually decent on our team, the two of us who play defense werer not allowed to play because we missed a practice(i missed mine for my grandmother's funeral and couldnt play). that may have had an effect on our D. i also thought my coach was a little harsh for that comment

Your coach sounds like the same old ignorant coach who knows nothing about goalie, its quite common.
