i'd rather buy 5 livestrong bracelets and have the proceeds go to cancer research than buy 1 of those for 5 bucks

I hate livestrongs. such a pathetic fad. Yes, it goes to a good cause, but people around the country are just buying them as a fashion statement. compared to other popular fashion items, livestrongs are only a buck so they can get them easily. But this is the thing that really gets me mad. Most stores around the country are sold out of livestrongs, so people sell them off ebay or just on the streets for as high as 10-20 bucks. Its for A CHARITY, and they're profiting off of it. In addition, livestrongs recently were created with different colors on it (because the average girl things yellow is "so ugly"). The POINT of livestrong's yellow is for lance armstrong and the yellow jacket in the tour de france. what used to be a good cause is now a bunch of shady guys selling pink livestrongs for 20 bucks off the street. If livestrongs werent such a fashion fad I would support them a lot more.

if you get those lax ones heres what people with livestrong ones will say----->

howcome you didnt spend that money to go towards a good cause instead of wasting it on some stupid rip off lax bracelett.

to me, just not worth the argument, every time someone sees them.

actually you are wrong on many accounts there man yellow symbolizes(sp?) like people we have lost and such like the yellow ribbons people put up when a member of the community dies. even if it is a fasion trend the money still goes to cancer end of story i don't care if you buy it to be cool or whatever as long as the money goes to cancer foundation. if you buy it off ebay you should be shot. end of story

just buy the 3 and donate some money to the LACF while you're at it. That'll compensate.

I believe the yellow was to specify a specific cancer not just the yellow jacket... and I also believe the pink was used to signify breast cancer, which I know is pink... but I'm not positive on this issue.

people arent intending to buy livestrongs to help cancer...most are doing it for a fashion statement..its the new "must have" item. and if you want to get a livestrong right now, the only way is through ebay or some 2nd hand seller. and although the yellow ribbon is a symbol, the yellow tour de france jacket is also involved with it, heavily involved.. and yes, pink does symbolize breast cancer, but i am also seeing striped ones, marble colored ones, every color thinkable. Does some marble color represent something that has to do with cancer? dont think so.

and yes, it is going to a good cause. but like i said before, many people are also HEAVILY profiting off of it via ebay. and if your making a lot of money for a good cause, but the money is being made only to be popular, then whats the point? yes money is money, but many arent intending to buy it to help cancer. they're buying it to be cool.

i have a feeeling the yellow jersey has absolutely nothing at all to do with it.....yes it does mean first place rider in the TDF but it is for cancer not cycling. people are making money of it and it is by no means right no one shoould take advantage of it but theres nothing you or I can do to stop it. It is a must have item and there is another way you cna get it through the lance armstong site which I believe is Wearyellow.com and i know plenty of people that have ordered them off there and sold them to friends for the dollar it cost them and no more.

People are not making that much i just checked ebay and only vendor i saw making a decent amount was the one selling two lance armstrong and two red sox nation braclets in the same auction and i have a feeling people want the red sox one more then the livestrong, they are kind of like an added bonus. People will try and might succede making money off of the bracelets which is low and dirty but most of the vendors on ebay i saw said the money was going to the foundation and untill you can tell me with 100% positive proof that they aren't odnating the money i'm going to have to believe them and hope people aren't so low as to do that

I got one right when they were out, nobody had them. Now everyone's asking me where I got it and they dont even support the cause. Lance is the man.

I got one before it was popular too. And www.wearyellow.com....wear yellow refers to armstrong wearing yellow...it does have a lot to do with cancer yellow, but wearyellow.com-that phrase is driectly routed to armstrong's yellow.

a complete rip off of livestrong, only without the purpose of supporting charity. I wore my livestrong to support the wear yellow campaign, frankly i dont think having an annoying piece of rubber off my wrist is good fasion, but to support a cause like cancer research it was a great idea and i was happy to do it. But not only is this a rip off from that great campaign, but they intend to take the business off livestrong, which means money away from cancer research, i think it is horrible.

Yellow-yellow was primarily chosen because it is easily associated with Lance (TDF wins), and also because it is easy to notice, one of those things on a wrist really stands out, so people wonder what it is, they find out and get one, the news spreads and pretty soon everybody has one, thats how the fasion sense thing started and it was a genious idea, now the world should tell anybody who wants to profit from this idea without supporting charity to bugger off.

How can they be intending to "take money away from cancer research"? they simply saw that the bracelets were succesfull and now popular so they just thought it would be profitable to come up with there own kind of bracelets, and i doubt many people will choose a more expensive bracelet that says lacrosse over a cheaper one that goes to a good cause except for the people that buy it for its intended purpose of the company selling the lax bracelets, the fact that it says lacrosse on it. ( i hope that made sense)

there was a maximum quota, what kind of charity limits its money raisings, anyway if this is the case then welcome lacrosse bands, but i wouldnt waste my money.

wait how can a charity, especially one like the livestrong charity, turn down money and not accept it?
