My team treats me like garbage. I get no respect, i get hit all the time in practice which i don't mind, but sometimes i need a min to shake it off and the kids make fun of me and tell me that im a goalie and they dont't care. overall im a good goalie but im realy tired of my team. Should i quit? any suggestions besides talking to the coach.

just talk to your coach, thats all you can do aside from telling them whats what, it might work to just balls to the wall and tell them to shut up.

I hate to say this, but that's the meaning of existence. It's kind of a shame you had to find out so early in life.

DO NOT hit back, most of the time they just want a reaction from you. Just keep your cool and let your play do the talking.

Did you do anything to get no respect?

i have that problem sometimes with my defense, for example if its an odd man rush and the offense makes the pass to the wide open man on the crease and he scores, i get comments like cmon get infront of that, when its man down and they are on the doorstep.

Just show them you're good and play. You don't get respect instantly for jumping into the crease.

try just walking out of the goal one day at practice and watch how they react.

once they realize how much they need a goalie their attitudes should change 180 degrees

i no its kinda stupid to hit but check an attackman 1nce or twice. just plow him, as legally as you can. itll show em u can do what they do u just would rather do what you need to. dont forget when you hit em cover the head of their stick with ur big oal goalie head to stop the shot or youll get crap from your coach

If you do any clearing drills at practice, throw a really hard pass at their helmets every time instead of their sticks.

that would just make him look bad. hed be sinking to their level of disrespect.

I use to be in the same boat. One time during practice when we were doing shooting drills, i just stepped out of the net. I talked to the coach before practice, and he said it would be fine. Anyway, back on track, after 4 or 5 shots i stepped out and took of my helmet and watched. They were giving me crap, and i said you step in net. One of them said okay...and he got hit in the shin.
After that, i got some respect. So for you, just think of a way that would get to your team that its tough being a goalie, and you deserve respect.
