I'm the starting girls varsity goalie(as a 10th grader) and I constantly get hit right above my knee and right below it. My problem is my [mandatory] leg pads don't cover those places and it causes my leg to go all numb.
Does anybody know some ways to protect those areas without resorting to those awful catcher pads?

The McDavid hexpad stuff is good for practice, and when you are nursing an injury. It doesn't completely deaden the pain, but it takes the edge off of it for sure. I use that pad on occasion when I've got a nasty shin bruise - I'm sure it would help on your knees as well.

those mcdavid pads are really popular as forearm pads in football. they help reduce the pain of a helmet to the arm, so I'd imagine they'd work for a lacrosse ball too.
