Tom Clancy's RainbowSix Vegas 2

Possibly One of the most Anticipated games this year and the latest release of Tom Clancy's famous line of Tactical video games. got an 8.5 on Gamespot.com but numerous medals dor performance on the controls and online play. i just got it about 20 minutes ago and am yet to play the game but if anyone else got it or has a freind or any experience at all please post your thoughts here on the game. the good the Bad, online experience. Gameplay. everything.

I got the game a coupel days ago. The story was ok, but kinda lacking. The online multiplayer is good tho. Any more stuff you want to know?

i heard the multiplpayer is basically the same maps and the graphics arent as good as call of duty, and that call of duty was better for multiplayer. i heard the campaing for vegas 2 was awesome though, but i havent played it so i wouldnt know

anybody who has played both call of duty 4 and vegas 2 want to compare them for us?

well i own both of them and not that i have played a couple hours. i can give a pretty good comparison.

Story Mode-R6V2 is intensely different gameplay. In R6V2 its more trying to figure sutff out and taking the best option while also goin on nice killing sprees and completeing the mission. you actually have to know what your doing. In COD4, you can pretty much go in dumb as a rock about the story mode and just kill everyone.

Online-Both basically the same. Team Deathmatch sort fo style. something you will find right from the start is the difference in map style. though the maps on both shooters is nice and provdes a decent amount of cover, R6V2's maps are wayyyy busier and more cluttered with stuff. Now while in COD4 you can run into a building or room with reckless abandon and not worry, its not like that in R6V2. you mave to check a room before you go barging in so you dont get sniped in the face or blown away with a Shotgun.

Weapons-I give the edge to Rainbow6 on this one bye ill say a 1/4 mile, not by a mile, but a 1/4 mile. Much deeper weapon selection with about 5-6 scopes for each one. Very satisfying. Also the great amount of grenades are awesome. Flashes, smoke, and Frags are the default ones. But you can get incinerary Grenades that blow up and spread a Phosphorous Gas around the room setting everyone in it on fire.

Learning Curve-This games take a bit of a learning curve for players of COD4. You will find yourself trying to knife someone when you have no knife, and throwing grenade when you want to crouch(ive killed myself multiple times because of this)

Health-hard to say. placement really matters in R6V2. not that you can get headshot in COD4 but if you shot the guy in the foot with a shotgun in COD he will die, in Rainbow he wont. Also on COD4 you can get like full clips loaded into you and still be alive, in Rainbow its not like that. you can be killed by one shot of a powerful pistol like the Raging Bull.

Overall, Rainbow6 Vegas 2 is the best Tactical shooter on the market. And is a bit more Rewarding than COD4 because of the work you put in. aMust buy in my books.

Another thing R6V2 has over COD4, for people with a 360, You can get achivements for playing on xbox live theres a lot of them that are similar to Gears of War

ohh like on Madden 08 where you can get achievements for like long passes and stuff. i actually didnt know that. one more thing id like to add to my comparison is Health.

COD4 is a run and gun shooter, while Vegas 2 is a little shlower and you have to pay more attention to what youre doing.

I beat the story a couple days ago. Im not sure if I like the story and being Bishop instead of Logan.

BTW you dont get the acheivement fo becoming a private first class is you played the first Vegas. But there should be a patch soon.

yeah thats why this is a Tactical Shooter.

another thing i forot to add...Ranking system, id love to hear your comment on it. i think its great. because it shows the tru players form the kids that just rank up. Like on COD some kids will be a 48 on the 8th Prestige and they get like, less than 10 kills a game because all they did was play HQ. But in this...you get 3 per kill for your team or 5 if you kill them yourself. and you need alot more points to rank up. then you get an extra +1 for headshots. he ranking system, though alot more complicated than COd's XP system, more fun. especiallyw ith the A.C.E.S. system.

Just read the decription for each one, Marksman, Assault, etc. certain things give you certain points for each.

Heres my comparison

RSV2 gameplay(online)- Much more appealing(sp), you can chose what map you want to play, and the language the players speak. Tons of weapons (48) and totally customizable and you dont have to get an amount of kills to get upgrades. You can fully customize your character from color of skin, to face , and armor. Its more realistic, less "bull-(profanity) kills".

COD4(online)- More of a fun game, less searious. A more of run and gun game not having to think. Not to user friendly but yet user friendly. If you dont mind being in any map its good, but if you like to choose, you cant. Guns are very shallow(not alot)and very few upgrades, cant customize your guy.

RSV2 Story- Great just great, good graphics and gameplay, commanding men, and using flash and storm tactics are endless times of fun. The computer opponets are much better skilled and more realistic.

COD4- Very cool for the certain missions. I love the sniper missions and crouching under cars as troops pass by. But yet the opponets suck and the tactics are minimal as you are alone

In my opinion both are good but RSV2 takes the cake for the win!!!!

just rented RSV2 over the weekend...LOVE IT! part of me still wishes I rented COD4, but regardless I am having so much fun. Even though Im not that much a fan of Rainbow Six games (thank you Lockdown), I loved it from the start.

I like what they did with the customization and getting new stuff when you get promoted (camo, armor, equipment), but I really like the ACES system and what you get when you reach a new level. I tried my best to make my guy look like SWAT (armor color, clothing color, baclava, goggles). Its really fun

theres one other thing that i dont like.. the achivement where you need xbox vision to get one achivement.. xbox vision is like freakin $70 so people r going to buy something to use once to get an achivement

Did you boost? Because the one I use is taking forever so I just play normally. I love the game, more so than COD4. The only thing I hate is the freaking respawn system. Some games you have like 2 respawns.

naw man i dont boost, i dont think you can even boost anymore. i got the game and have been playing terrorist hunts with a buddy of mine since then, i would have been an elite by now but i stopped playing for two days, my buddy is already an elite though which is cool.

the online co-op really is what sells the game to me
i am not a big fan of the online experience
but what i like is you rank up in campain and it carries over to the online part

good game much easier to rank up then first game but easy ways to cheat and rank up faster so alot of high ranked kids are around story mode is good and online is fun when ur playing the RIGHT way

I thought that the campaign was really easy. With the exception of the Nevada Desert which was tricky.
