I just got back from the game, i am in shock right now. And it wasnt even a close game, albany won 10-2. Albany started out 0-5 and lost to teams like drexel and then they just beat princeton today. It was mad cold but it was still wourth going to the game. This might give albany hope to try to salvage the rest of their season.

Wow. I thought there must have been a mistake when I read the title.
Now thats what I call a decisive victory. After all those one-point losses, Albany finally picks up a win against the Princeton squad. Whats really surprising though, is the margin of victory. An 0-5 team winning by 8 points. Thats pretty hard to manage against any team. Unless your Duke...

Nice to see Albany finally get a win, and a nice one at that.

theres the brett queener we've been looking for all year. 11 saves, 2 GA. i still think albany has dug themselves into a hole they wont be able to get out of. theres the possibility they wont even break .500, which would make them uneligible for the tourney. even if they do, theres only a few quality teams (cuse and umbc, stony brook is on the brink of being considered quality) who they can prove themselves again.

Queenerrrr! He's the best goalie in the NCAA IMO. Good to see Albany get a win after 5 straight loses.

as far as GAA and saves go, i don't think so, but all those crazy clears that he runs up the field and the fact that he plays offense on man-up makes up for that.

Ehhh, I wouldn't say that. Keepers like Loftus, Zimmerman, Kemp and Schneider got him well beat imo. Still, after a few less-than-impressive outings by Queener, I think he's finally starting to hit his stride.

Doubt it, watch and see. MLL coaches know how good Hewit is, even if his recent stats don't reflect that. He's already a 2x All-American, not many (If any, depending on who's going to the MLL) other goalies entering the draft this year can say that.

there are goalies way better than queener. loftus and zimmerman are obvious, not to mention doc, matt coughlin, adam fullerton, a lot more...

Congrats to Albany, a season of near misses and now this ... a huge win for the Great Danes. Can't even think about NCAA chances, there's far too many games to go, but the automatic qualifier gives everyone who makes the America East tourney a chance and Albany looks like it can make the cut. Princeton is another story. The defense has been struggling, and the Tigers have relied on offense to make up for it ... until this one. Sure makes the IVY race a lot more interesting ... Harvard, Dartmouth, Cornell and Penn no doubt will look closely at this game. -- Shouldn't this be on the "gameday" forum? Almost missed it ...

What does him having a job on wall street have to do with anything. Lacrosse obviously isn't a full time job and Hewitt will be long retired by the time it is a full time job.

Ha thats true now that I think about it. He had a few games that were below average. But you have to love almost everytime he makes a save he runs 3/4 of the way up the field haha

Still and all, I can remember when Hewitt and Cocozeillo were in the recruiting issue coming out of Delbarton. At the rate it's going to be hard to call Princeton elite program after this year. Elite University, yes, if lax pulls you over the threshold, great, but the Ivy could be a crap shoot between four school over the next five years.

Hewitt and Coco were supposed to lead Princeton back to the promise land. I agree Ivy League is anyones game. I honestly would not be shocked to see Harvard win it.

just not the same after boyle left princeton. Even worse now trombinos gone. i predict princeton having more losses for seasons to come just cuz their offense cant produce output. Theyre young but it doesnt look like they have any good freshman standouts, the team is graduating their standout goalie and defensemen, and the juniors kovler and davis are looking mediocre in the stat column. Princeton's rep gets worse and worse, and then even less top recruits will want to play for them over places like UNC, Duke, UVA, Cuse, ND, etc. Then lacrosse becomes another sport princeton sucks at.

Actually this year Princeton's offense had been the best in a few years...when was the last time you saw Princeton rack up 9 goals on Hopkins, or 10 against UVA?
Albany controlled the ball for much of the game allowing Princeton only 10 shots in the first 3 quarters combined...

100% agreed, but Lacrosse is not the maryland state sport, that would be jousting.
