As I understand it if you play on an ncaa team it counts towards MCLA eligibility. Is the opposite also true? If I played say two years at a top club team would I have 2 years left for a ncaa team or 4?

I'm not sure, but you couldn't have 4 years left anyways. NCAA eligibility says you have your first 5 years of college to play, and you can play 4 seasons in those 5 years.

From the University of Oregon's Club teams website:
"Players have 4 years of eligibility to play collegiate lacrosse. Representing another school against any other competition counts as year of eligibility"

If you played 2 years at an MCLA school you would have 3 years of NCAA eligibility left. You have 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility, and in cases I have seen, playing MCLA does not affect your eligibility.

Thanks for the help! I came to the same conclusion eclipse did. Maybe I'll even be able to find away around the 5 years rule. I.e. the 50 year old+ guy who just finished his last year of college football.

thats because in D3 you get x number of semesters of play with no time limit.
in D1 there is a time limit starting when you first play
