How do you deal with payback in sports? Are you told my your coaches not to retaliate? If so, do you listen? or do you go out with a vengeance? Let's hear some stories.

Last week at my indoor soccer game, I went out to just hurt someone (I'm a very agressive defender) so when this kid who thinks he's wicked cool came down the field I was determined to knock him off his feet. He started doing all the faking crap and went to the left of me so I just caught up with him and threw a shoulder into him knocking him over. He rolled, I got a foul. ANyways, the other team felt the need to get me back. So with like 2 seconds left in the game, I have the ball and I'm running up the field. out of the corner of my eye I see a kid come running at me full speed. He hits me into the air, I turn sideways in mid air and go into the boards, with my body parallel to the ground. Couldn't really walk for the rest of the day because I bruised my knee and i injured my wrist when I fell to the ground. So I went out this week ready to kill. It took about 20 minutes until I had my chance. The kid went up for a header, jumped about 2 feet in the air. He jumped while turning, with his back towards me. So I jumped at the same time, and he turned around towards me in mid-air to see an elbow come flying into his face. I hit him in the face or the upper chest (couldn't tell) and the kid flipped over backwards in mid-air and landed on his face. And I walked away with only a foul.

At my fall league game a couple weeks ago a guy on the other team knocked a guy on my team down. Ok, that's fine, it's lax. But when our guy is down he slashes him in the head, so another one of my guys comes over and drills him in the head with his stick. Suprisingly it didn't break(it was a harrow) and then they started hitting each other (fists). Man it was great, they both got three minute suspensions. I say it was worth it.

Last year , against our rivals, I think my whole team was out to get one girl. She got it pretty bad but then they cheated in the end and won. Soo this year, seeing as she is a senior, I think a lot of people will be "accidentally" hitting her when we play them. My coach doesn't really help the problem either. I would say he almost encourages it, like be aggressive do it back to her ect.

knocking kids over, or decking them usually doesn't cause much pain. Beaming them with the ball is usually more exciting. especially when you wind up for a underhand wormburner and are like, "dance (explitive), dance!" and if not, they get beamed

i give TLF's retired lil' italy man a call... he does a decent job of keeping it out of the papers too.

yeah.. not much a goalie can do in retaliation, but when i play attack i usually end up getting a dangerous shot foul... :)

funny story, this one kid in fall ball the second game of the fall ball season he cheap shotted one of my defenders and slashed him in the neck and he sat out for the rest of the half so the other defenders took revenge one of my defenders decked the kid into the shot path of this kid that wond up and nailed him in the chest and in the second half the slashed defender decked the kid into a kid taking a shot and screwed that kid up fun game.

some kid rocked me at one of our games, total foul, he cross checked me in the helmet from behind, and later in that game the same jerk tackled one of our other players, and the kid just starts beating him up, it was so funny, we almost had a bench clearer. I loved my team.

In my game, I think we must've been against a rival high school(in fall league they group high schools together) because they had the midset that if anything went wrong someone was going to get beaten. I guess that caused the whole helmet slash incident.

Well, my coach doesn't like us retailiating illegally, but it happens. If I get pissed during a game, which happens every once in a while, you can tell. This one friendly scrimmage I got poke checked in the throat on 3 different occasions, by the same defender, and I got pissed. So for the rest of the game, I'd ride him as hard as I could (won that battle), I'd run him to death on and off the ball (another win for me), and tried to V-cut on his foot, but failed..

I don’t really "get back" exactly, I don’t really get mad when I get hit on purpose or when the try to intentionally injure me, since I know im a target. Its more of my teammates that get back.. Well it was my teammates from two years ago, that got “even” since they respected me. They just gave the player what they did to me.

However, if someone starts to make me irate, which can be easily done depending on my mood, I will just hit ribs or lower areas as hard as they drive by, nothing flagrant. I cant exactly lay someone out, so I do what I can, which usually will be nothing, just take it and leave…

One game some dpole knocked me from behind pretty hard, I was seein lights/nothing at all. I got up after a few minutes and shook it off. When I went back in I unfortunately lost it and gave him a butt end through the face mask. Not cool.

Some of these reminded of one time when I kinda snapped. It was in indoor game a few years ago. And I always put effort into almost game, and this game I was just playing hard and giving some hard stick checks (nothing amazing, just like when they were clearing the ball, stuff like that) and one of the defenders was getting mad at me and saying stuff, so I just turned and looked at him and just stared into his eyes like what the hell you thinking, and I turned back facing our goalie and he stared poke checking me in the neck and saying what are you gonna do about, and kept pushing me. Then he finally went to far by really giving me a good one in the neck.. I wouldnt have minded if I had the ball and he did that, but it happened when the ball was at the other end and I just swung my stick around and hit him right on the helmet. I thought it was hard, probably wasnt but, he didnt like it to much. I cant remember if I got it handed to me later in the game, but the only time I really tried to get back at someone.
