so i am mainly a soccer guy... i play ODP (olympic development program) for my state, and two other club teams as well as my school team. i only play lax for our school.

my coach wants me to choose between soccer or lax pretty much (i have some soccer practices that interfere with one lax practice a week). i pay a lot of money to play soccer on these teams so for that reason i don't want to quit. however i love lax and i want to keep playing, not to mention i just got new kings and a pro7 so...

does anyone have any ideas or ways to maybe solve this? i am in need of some advice.

thanks...

tell your coach your gonna play both. its one practice. plus it shouldnt be a big deal, since you run a lot in soccer anyway.

Quiting is a decision you have to make, and the forums cant decide for you. Pretty much everyone on this forum will tell you not to quit since its the lacrosse forums, but you have to do whats best for you or most important to you. Just remember that playing a high school sport is an experience and by quitting you're removing yourself from that experience.

Tell your coach you love lacrosse but soccer comes first. Ask him if you should quit.

there's a kid on my team thats on the u-19 U.S. men's national team. seriously.

he's a freakish athlete and one of our best middies.

Anyway, he has to miss a lot of lacrosse for national team practices across the country in florida (we're in socal), but our coach is ok with it because he works his butt off when he's at lacrosse.

...since you're on 4 soccer teams can't you quit one or two to make room for lacrosse? If not even though you love lacrosse I would personally go with soccer since it sounds like you're really good at it. and if you don't want to do that tell you coach that its only 1 practice and that it can't possibly hurt you to be a multi-sport athlete

Dont quit. And it might not be a good idea asking this question on a lacrosse forum. Were lacrosse junkies of course we dont want anyone to quit. I play soccer too. A club team as well ask school. Just tell your parents you would like to quit 1 of the club teams to fit room for lacrosse. Or for your club team, dont play fall, just winter spring and summer.

I would stick around to see if your playing time decreases as a penalty for missing practice. If your playing time doesn't decrease I wouldn't quit and just tell your coach that you'll have to miss a practice once a week, but it's not that bad since your still doing something involving energy.

What the heck soccer actually gets you kinda in shape he should be like my caoch because we have a kid on our team who plays basket ball and my coach lets him mis 1 out of 3or4 practices that week

your playing on an Olympic development program so your priority is obviously soccer. Pick what you love, but one practice a week isn't a big deal.

dont worry about it. Keep doing lacrosse and soccer. so you miss one practice a week. big deal. Just work hard and you Coach should know that you big on soccer. Quitting is soemthing you have to ask yourself though man. No ones gonna lsoe respect for you fi you do becasue you have a legit reason. so no biggie.

You should definatly choose between the two. On our team it makes me made when some kids miss practice and I go to all of them. It is just not fair. I whould keep playing which ever one you like better and then play the other sport in a non competitive leauge.

if you think that you could get a scolarship from soccer you should definitly focus on that, but 1 pratice a week shouldnt be a problem. my coach lets me miss two a week because i work.
