This is an awfully broad request. What kinds of ideas are you looking for? Ideas on setup/stance? On save technique? Clearing? Directing the defense? Have you tried searching this forum?
In general, your role, in order of importance, is to:
1) Stop the ball
3) Direct the defense
4) Execute clears effectively
To do #1, you need to:
1) Watch the ball, always, ideally through your top hand
2) Drive your top hand to the ball
3) Step aggressively with your front foot to get your body behind your hands
I would suggest picking up a copy of the DVD, "The Ball Stops Here" by Bill Pilat.
