Well, after having to look at that god-awful reverse flare on my helix I finally decided to do something about it. Give it a good ole pinch.

thats insane, i dont have a helix but if i had one i would do that because i hate the flare on the sidewalls of those things
thats crazy. my friend has a helix and it looks a lot better pinched. and nice stringing too.

Haha. And I thought you couldn't pinch the helix anymore. I hate the flare on those too. Nice job though.

yeah, the only down side is I noticed that it looses some of it's offset, but I still like it better this way

yes I did, first time actually, I didn't have that big of a pot so, i just put the throat part in while the burner was on setting 5 (my stove burners have settings 1 low-8 high) for 10 min, increasing the temp every couple minutes until it reached 7, then I took it out ran it under cold water for a few minutes, dried it off, let set for half an hour, with strings still on, and got the pinch you see now.

the flare is one of the main advantages of the helix. if you didn't like it, why would you buy a helix in the first place?

I was thinking the exact same thing. It seems like people get a head just because its what is popular, but they don't realize it might not be the best thing for them.
It is a nice pinch though, but is it just me, or does it seem really long?

Well, you're kinda right. At first I thought I would like the reverse flare, but over time I began to dislike it.
