Indoor to Outside

Well over the fall and winter i've been playing on a club team (Emass Jr.Minutemen) in a nice indoor building turf of course. And now im starting outdoor im fine with the cold in massachussets it warming up. But the field conditions are horrendous. It's half dirt half mud two blades of grass and its im possible to scoop the ball. I was wondering how to deal with the mud every time you go to scoop your head diggs in 2 inches deep and you get a huge clump of dirt. The only good thing is bouce shots get stuck in the mud.

try to skim over the dirt, don't jab your stick at the ball.
