they both work fine. If you get soccer shin guards make sure you get some with a plastic shell (like lacrosse shin guards). the plastic greatly reduces the pain of shots. But beware, shin guards give up rebounds more than uncovered shins do.

Go out, have your friends run a lot of shots on you.

You'll bruise the first week or two, then it will subside. Shin guards will only make you look like a fool if you use them in game. Chances are that other teams, like mine has done, will make fun of you during the quarter and half-time breaks.

It's alright to use one if you injure one shin, but dont use both regularly. Just my opinion though.

I agree with him. I actually felt guilty using one this year but I had to because my shin was extremely swollen. I suggest wearing one during practice though just so you shin doesnt swell up again.

McDavid shin guards are good, I don't use them during games, but I do for practices.--reason is, you take, what, like 100 shots during practice? Whereas during a game you take around 20. I would use some light padding, don't go over the edge.

lol, use them if you want or not. You're not going to look like a fool if you use them or not. I use them and its a lot more helpful and nice to know I have some protection down there too.

i'm pretty sure hes asking for a suggestion on what kind of shin guard he should use. not if he should use them or not.

honestly, im seeing more and more goalies wear shin guards. not the huge indoor or field hocky guards, but just siimple soccer ones.

theres is nothing wring with wearing them.
go with soccer ones, or mcdavid. but soccer ones will give just a little more protection, but more rebounds.

I would not wear them, maybe if your shin is hurt but not otherwise. It will give you more motivation to stop the ball =)
