Did a game yesterday that was lined entirely with 4 inch wide lines, including the goal lines.
My question: Should the goal itself, be set up on the back or front of the line, since the goal pipe are around 2" wide and the line is 4?
As a team, our officials crew said front, but I was thinking it was back since that would make the plane that the ballmust completely cross. Thoughts?

The back of the pipe must align with the back of the line. Otherwise you could have a ball at rest on the goal line (by rule not a goal) that is completely past the plane formed by the rear edge of the pipes (by rule a goal).

We have a field here...ready for this...that is field turf with permanent lines that are 8 inches thick!!!!
Also, the field is only 100 yards long!!!

If it's only 100 yards, you should be able to run across it pretty quickly. :runaway:

Sorry. If it's only 100 yards, you should be able to swim across it pretty quickly. :runaway:
Especially if you have one of those new suits Alain Bernard used to break Pieter van den Hoogenband's world record.

These suits are a bit more modest than what you're used to seeing from swimmers:

As I recall from my NAME days at UofM - a 1-1/2" pipe (NFHS Rule 1-3-1) is 1.9" outside diameter which is close enough to 2" and recognizing that the most frequent Rule 1 discrepancy (my opinion - sounds like a good trivia question for training) is that most fields have a 4" goal line painted vice 2" as required by NFHS Rule 1-2-1 - so when you check the nets - ensure that the pipes align with the rear edges of the misapplied goal line as LaxRef suggests.
