I use a cascade cpx and i'm fine with it, but is there anything special about the new pro7?

Better protection against concussions, basically. Apparently it is balanced better/lighter, but it isn't too different.

concussion protection because theres a waffle patterned pad in there to evenly distribute blows to the head. lighter, stronger, and its one piece and one size fits all, where it can be adjusted to your head as you grow larger.

Along with the things mentioned above, for me, it was a much more comfortable helmet than any other available.

by the way, it is not lighter than a cpx at all. Ive weighed both. It feels great on your head though because it is more balanced than a cpx, thus making it feel lighter.

last year my team used cpro and this year we switched to pro7's .... and i have gotten twice as many concussions this year as last year already. the front protection i think is horrible. but thats just my opinion.

well once you get one concussion, your more vulnerable for another. so dont blame the helmet for that.

That is your fault that you are getting so many concussions. u should take a lax break if you get so many concussions.

indeed, you need to switch to the riddell AFTER taking some time off if you are having concussion problems.

supposedly the pro7 offers better protection as it ages, unlike the CPX

i think this is a great way to describe the feel of the helmet. The Pro7 just feels better on your head than the CPX, although the CPX is still a great helmet.

I had a regular cpx, and now ive got a pro7. they are pretty similar in weight and if there is a difference its isnt noticeable. the thing i love about the pro7 is the way it feels balanced on your head. i think its less noticeable wearing it because it sits on your head so perfectly balanced and the weight feels so evenly distributed.

im not sure if that makes any sense, but make sure to try one on before you buy it. also, makes sure to fiddle around with the sizing and jaw pads before you say "this thing creates a lot of pressure points and feels uncomfortable"

also, with the right color combinations, i think they look a lot slicker than the cpx. in my opinion.

do they fit/look any bigger than CPX's?

I know it's one size fits all, but in the general shell portion of the helmet, which is bigger?

they are much more like a football helmet than a lacrosse helmet. I play both sports and the pro7 is a very tight fitting helmet. I like it a lot. It has taken many blows and not a single one has hurt me. I mean, there are its weaknesses. I cracked a piece of the shell taking a 85mph or so shot to a weak point. It isn't awful.

The line of sight on it is a little off in my own opinion. I like it a lot though.

thanks for the info.

I'm just trying to decide if I should get a new CPX or try out the Pro7

For my travel team, we are back and forth with CPX's and Pro7's. To be honest, i dont really care which ones we get. I have tried them both on, and they are both comfortable and good looking.
