Not just for the beach itself, but blast them out of your car on the way there. You'll suddenly see all the aggressive and/or moronic drivers around you mellow out and put a smile on their face.

Well not all the time no...especially around Annapolis/Severin River Bridge/Bay Bridge back-up and the slow down in between 404 and Easton. From Cambridge on though everyone's mood lightens up.

much agreed,
"white rover"... and "kiss me i'm... poop faced"?
those tend to make you just want to, well get a nice glass, put a few ice cubes in, and top it off with some jamesn's...
but back on topic for the original post.

i cant believe "reel big fish" hasnt been mentioned.
they are the empitome of beach music.
old school punk like rancid or goldfinger is pretty awesome too.
ska/punk is the way to go for beach music, but when im looking for a "sing along" song, i listen to bands with vocalists whose voices can be mistaken for that of a woman(circa survive, taking back sunday,...)
i dont normally blast my hardcore stuff when going to the beach, it just doesnt fit the occasion.

Thats a really good beach song. I origannly thought the piano riff was Warron Zevons "werewolves of London" until i listened to the rest of the song and it was SKYNYRD!
