I play D and I'm switching to LSM mostly because I'm "fast as hell and hit people" as quoted by my coach.
Should I cut down my stick and if so, how much?

No need to cut it down. Leave it as is.

depends on how old you are and how tall you are. I would say there's no need to do it.

Depends. How tall are you and how high is your stick. I playd long pole middie for about a week and I cut my stick down like 3 inches and it helped a little. I THINK the rule they go by at my school (which I didn't follow) is to cut it down so the head is to your bottom lip.

Let's say my stick is taller then me by a few inches and I'm a sophomore.

If you are in high school, you shouldn't cut it down. I would just try to get used to it.

i would cut down at least so that it is as tall as you.

I would say just leave it as it is. You can always cut stuff down, but you can never uncut anything.

Definitely just leave it as is. You are at a disadvantage if you are missing that few extra inches of reach. If you were fine with it on D, you'll be fine on LSM. Leave it.

i agree, if you were 5' 4" i might say that you might want to cut it down, but you are tall enough to just get used to it.

My coach has told me basically the same thing I'm fast and like to deck people, but I'm short and I don't cut my poles I've scored two points this season playing D. I see no reason to cut my pole because I think it takes away from the way I play D, you have no need to cut the pole.
