woah are they serious? those pads are ancient. they probably offered the same package 10 years ago, if you replace the CLH2 with a bucket helmet and the stick with something else. If you want a cheap package then go to texlax

Wow, you guys complain of a bunch of rookie players coming to practice with freaks and edge-x and cpro helmets. I started on this stuff. Yep wanna laugh? Go ahead. Atleast I didn't shell out half a grand for equipment for a sport I didn't know whether I would like or not. I cut the cups of the shoulder pads off and everything worked fine. O and guess what, those gloves have all leather palms too, just like those limited edition mac daddy's you suckers want so bad.

In fact, I wasn't the only one with those pads, my friend who was in high school at the time wore them, and he started on varsity. So all you idiots who laugh at people showin up in bling you don't have or can't beg your rich parents to shell the money out for shut your mouth, these are for beginners and they work.

you know what's really sad? that everyone laughs at that stuff. i played with stuff worse than that up until my sophomore and junior year in high school, when some of that stuff broke or got holes in it. and, i still play with some of it. some people just arent willing to dish out a couple hundred bucks every year for the newest, state of the art pads. and some also dont have parents that are willing to spoil their kids with new pads every year or every other year. it all just seems a little ridiculous to me.

It's not so much the quality of the equipment offered in that package . . . it's the price that's got everyone stifling laughter. I am usually a strong supporter of the sites that advertise here on tlf.com, however the cost of that package can not be correct. Maybe it was a typo, and they really meant to enter in a different price, these things do happen. Maybe this is a good old fashioned gag?

Yes, the gear sucks and many of you started with it. So stop crying. We're saying compared to gear now, of course it sucks. And trying to sell off that gear in the year 2004 is of course crazy. Is starting with those pads any different than starting with some trident gloves, sp's, and arm pads? no. Tridents may be better than that bacharach stuff, but OF COURSE IT IS. times change, gear gets better. That gear is grossly outdated, so of course we're going to look down upon it. When some of you guys started out it was probably the equivalent to beginners gear now.

And PS: my school only supplies us with helmets...not even any pads.

$224 is not a bad price for a functional set of beginner gear. Some fools might spend that much or more just on a stick, or just a helmet. This package is for the benefit of parents who aren't made of money, and insist on their kid being fully protected.

The stick shaft won't last, so you need a better one right away. Other than that, if you replace the crappy gloves after season 1, and replace the ugly helmet after season 2, you could keep most of that stuff for a few years

You brave, tough field players won't be wearing the rib pads and arm guards anyway, so no issue there.

Yeah we have lots of kids who start of with gear like that over here. I started with gear like this and just picked up new and better stuff over the years. And that was a good point that some of you guys made that most parents aren't made out of money and dont wanna buy there kids all the latest gear when they are just begining to play the game.

The stick and helmet aren't the same as what's in the picture. Also, Bachrach has it's own equipment line that is suited to beginners. A lot of the stuff is more expensive, since they don't do it in bulk. I'd challenge you to put together a better load of equipment using bachrach's prices. The helmet and stick alone cost way more than $100.

And I still use an original cascade.

man oh man...some of you guys are pretty harsh...instead of immediately bashing me how about asking what's up first! Thanks to those that tried to stick up for me. The problem is that the picture is so outdated it's disgusting...for those that have received our recent catalog you'll see that the equipment is way more updated...the arm pads are now stx fusion, it's still a clh2 helmet but that on it's own costs about $100. I admit the AV8 head is no G-Force but then a beginning player shouldn't be using a G-Force! as for the rest of the gear...again...it may not be Player's Club but it is just for the beginner. If you try and take all of this stuff and match it up to anyone else they're going to have the same price or higher in most cases, especially after you consider the 25% discount I'm throwing at you...so how about next time giving me the benefit of the doubt and asking before bashing! (Yes...we will update the picture as soon as we can)

I would have killed for those gloves when i started. I was using my old hockey gloves with the palms cut out. Those gloves would be sweet not too, retro is always a cool look.

Where it says color, does that mean color for every item in the package? Because we need white helmets on my team.
