New Equipment rule

I live in Michigan and play lacrosse in high school. I heard that there is a new rule that you cant play with any altered equipment. like if you had slash guards on gloves u cant play with them. Is this just in michigan or is it all over.

this is a well established rule that has been around for a while. thats why you dont see gloves with the palms cut out anymore.

It's always been a rule, but it's kind of loosely enforced. Almost every player on my team has altered their shoulder pads in some form.
