to get into a good school you need grades in the 90's and 1200 or better on SAT's (part 1 & 2). keep your grades up starting now because they check transcripts from freshman year on.

Depends on the school. But when you think about it, most big time D1 and a lot of great D3 schools are also very good academically. While being a recruited player might help a little in admissions, you are still going to need pretty good stats.

when you say 1200 on the SAT's do you mean out of 1600 or out of 2400

he meant out of 1600. Also, you can't tell how good someone is academically by their grades. You have to look at how hard the courses are that they are taking and how busy their schedule. I got this from a person who accepts/rejects people for college, so don't tell me this is wrong: colleges care more about how busy your schedule/how difficult your classes are than your grades. If you have a 4.0 taking easy classes and not pushing yourself, colleges won't like that. If you are taking a.p.'s/go to a good school and taking more major classes than everyone else, you should be fine.

If you go to the NCAA Clearinghouse web site you will see that the academic standards have been raised. If you have a child who aspires to play college sports, you better start to STRESS academics. If your school has Honors classes and AP courses, if will only help prepare them for the next level. It will also save you some money when your child walks on campus as a freshman with 10-20 college credits under his/her belt. Having gone through the recruitment process, I can only say that your childs grades are as or more important that how many goals or saves your son/daughter made.

If your grades suck this year as a freshmen I wouldn't worry too too much about it. Most colleges stress your junior and senior year grades.

It varies from college to college. But for most state schools up north you need around a 3.7 g.p.a (1200min. on old SAT) with a hard schedule to be considered as a normal student. If you actually are going to get a scholarship--which it doesnt sound like you will if you know this little about the process--schools will lower their standards...just try to keep a 3.0/1000 SAT atleast-If you are good enough you can get in anywhere with that.
