Hey goalies, I was wondering who your goalie idol is. Mine is Brian Dougherty of the Long Island Lizards. He used to play for Rochester, where I live and I loved to watch him play and I try to model myself after his technique and style of play. Who is your idol and who has influenced you the most??

mine is either Greg Cattrano who i worked with a few times or....Robbie Carroll who went to my high school and ended up playing for nazareth and he would have started all 4 years if it wsant for a certin goalie named jake coon.

Brian Carcatarra, Robby Muligan, or Trevor Tierney. I try and model the way I play after Carc, and Muligan. Carc however is my main inspiration seeing as we are around the same size, and well he's a very nice guy unlike a few of the pro's I've met *cough cough* Cattrano *cough cough* Muligan was kind of an *** to, but he was still awesome. As for Trevor, he's not a bad teacher, and while I don't play like him, I certinly use a few thing that I picked up from him,

Tillman Johnson without a doubt came out of no where and stunned everyone in the playoffs. I've been following him for a while now, and i'm really glad to see that he came out of his shell from last year and made such an impression on people. As for other idols, Carcaterra, Catrano and Tierney without a doubt.

I'm more an indoor/Box fan, so: Dallas Eliuk, quite simply the man, and Devon Dalep, a very under-rated goalie who is very, very sound fundamentally.
I admire Doc and Carc (as do most goalies), and I had never heard of Tillman Johnson until May, but now I am glad I did. I regret that I never got to see Bill Daye play in real life.

SAL LOCASSIO...
Played box AND field well...not many could do that...all round I think Sal was the best...may not have been the best at either...but in the top 10 of both...and no one else can claim that
