Did anyone see it? Should I bother? It looks kind of interesting, but so did several other movies that really sucked.

I saw a preview when I was at the movies and it seems a lot more dramatized than the actual story. They probably added a lot more violence and sex to appeal to the general public. I don't know if that's your thing or not, but they also made a documentary about this which seemed a lot more real. It seems interesting though so I'll probably check it out.

I went into it thinking it was going to suck but i actually liked it. It took awhile for me to like the characters but they came around in the end.

The book was fantastic, I don't see how the movie could be better. But I haven't seen it, so I could be wrong.

The movie was actually pretty tight. They throw in a pretty cool twist; not that unpredictable, but how they do it is pretty cool.

What count makes the deck hot or cold.

I saw it earlier and I really liked it. It gave me the sense that anyone could count cards, but I know my memory isnt good enough but I thought it was really well done.

i have read both the book and seen the movie and i would say they both had their ups. the movie had more downs though.

The movie doesnt follow the book vey closely...at all

its a very loose interpretation but overall worth seeing

The movie was fantastic. Never read the book so I cant go into detail on that. The storyline really want you want to keep watching. There are not really any boring parts either

What count makes the deck hot or cold.

Well, basically you allot a +1 number for every low card dealt (2-6), a count of zero for cards 7, 8 and 9, and a -1 for cards 10-ace dealt. A deck is hot the higher the count (positive number), essentially stating that more lower cards have been dealt thus there are more high cards remaining in the deck.

Quite right, Devil. The rest of the story is that a shoe stacked with high cards means that the dealer, who is obliged to add cards to his hand until he reaches 17 or more (many Casinos do not require their dealers to hit 16's, and some allow him to hit soft 17's) is more likely to throw a face card onto a 12 or better and bust.

That's how you beat the dealer. Make him bust.
