would it be a disadvantage as far as recruting goes if you were a 3 year varsity back up goalie for a top 25 team in h.s. and then started for your senior year? That being said, I would be playing on a competive allstar team every summer that goes to the good recruting camps. Any help or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

if you play behind a high D1, D2, or d3 goalie then definately not a disadvantage

No, clearly it is a disadvantage. That doesnt mean you wont be recruited or go to a college you want to go to. But if you only have one year of high school play, then you dont get as much exposure=therefore disadvantage...

It doesn't really matter. At my school when Mike Gvozden ( Hopkins goalie) played his senior year, his younger brother was a sophomore and did not see much play time. but from just playing well in during that summer, his junior year he commited to hofstra.

Kid at my school ( severn) already committed to umbc and he hasnt even made a varsity start yet as a junior. The goalie hes playing behind is going to vermont.
