What do you guys think about instituting a policy by where we don't have to wear the usual uniforms on Fridays? Much like the workplace ritual, you'd be allow to wear whatever you want on Fridays, as long as it's decent (no thongs, 3PP!).

Cool shades on sunny days!

(Reduces incidence of snow blindness.)

I think it wouldn't be the right profession to have said day.

I think a loud aloha shirt and some flip-flops would go a long way to boost moral.

See: http://www.lacrosseforums.com/showthread.php?t=113195

Oh wait . . . if we wear a loud shirt would be drawing undue attention to ourselves and receive a USC?

LR, there is nothing casual about me in a thong. It is shock and awe. NeoCon wardrobe at it's most explicit.

It was noted a while back that Arizona officials are explicitly allowed to eschew the bulky tube socks, and we CA officials have never been reminded that sunglasses are declasse.

Also, I note that most Friday games are night games, and it is not so much fun to dress down when you're bundling up.

How about Bowling Shirt day? Those shirts are so utterly fabulous and you can get them at Thirft shops for a buck or so apiece! Or Maddras Shorts Day! Or 70's day, where the guy in the wide lapel leisure suit gets to blow the whistle and we can signal the bench with disco moves (We get a photocopy of the scorekeeper's penalty record as a memento..)

Or, hey, Superheroes Day! The R gets whatever to be whomever he wants, and the Junior guy has to dress as his sidekick. Early in the season we can have Gestapo Leather Trenchcoat day. Hawaiian Shirts for Jamborees. Wide brimmed Gangster Fedoras for Valentines Day games.

Now, for the coup de Grace. We all know that the prime viewing turf for detecting penalties is in the coaches box(s). It also would help coaches if they could go direct their O and D from lead and trail positions. Let's swap stations with the coaches! They get the exercise, and we can bellow in properly observed calls from bar stools near the table.

What about retro day?

Back to white shirt and bow tie!! (Check out a rule book from 50 years ago.)

Classy, but not exactly casual.

Our section has casual months (May and June plus summer) in which we go to white hats and short socks. As the weather warms, our uniform adapts.....

Definitely a warm weather uniform, though I don't think I would want to see many officials wearig this one and showing their midriffs!

If we had refs like that, it would be awesome. I can't think of anything else appropriate to say about it.

But what I'm more worried about is why you're on an adult fantasy costume site.....hrmmmm?

Google takes you where it thinks you might want to go.......I was looking for some statistics about participation in water sports a few years back and was astonished at what my related searches dug up....

if i walked out on the field when the ref called for captains and he was wearing a flower print shirt i'd probably die laughing... but it'd be cool...

Hmm.. if all are refs looked like I that.. I don't think you catch me complaining about a call ..

However it could get a little distracting at some times... if you catch my drift..

I'm all for black and white Hawaiian shirts.

Madras shorts is also a brilliant idea.

Madras shorts is also a brilliant idea.

Of course you think it's a brilliant idea. I suggested it and I am officiating your game on the 12th. I am not so dim as I appear when in stripes, my young stripling.

For those of us without pulse stopping abs, I suggest http://www.fantasiawear.com/costumes-g-83067-referee.htm

My au courant found the site. She is encouraged to browse this sort of website, and is afforded a budget for purchases. I may shortly be able to report data on fit and durability.

Ye gads, Puff! You mean in Colorado refs have to RUN???

We just sort of saunter, and with those shoes we'd look good doing so.

You've got to slow those kids down out there. St. Iggy will get agitated if you expect contested transitions and fast breaks and stuff.
