OK so heres the story, i play LSM and i got the ball from my man behind X and as i go to pass he poke checks me in the throat:nofear: . I fell to the ground because i couldnt breath and was rolling around. As i am doing this the ref comes up to me and tells me " Get up kid your not hurt". I got up still not being able to breath and ran back to the box to sub in a middie. Now after a bit i was able to breath right again so it wasnt that serious. But i am wondering is a ref aloud to say this to me?

Seconded. The ref probably didn't see the jab to your neck, and may have had it up to here with kids who writhe like they're really hurt (as you must have been) and get play stopped, and writhe some more, then pop up and complain that the ref is making him sub out until the next whistle.
I hate to see kids hurt on my field. I really do. It makes my heart sink. But those kids who (having learned the skill in soccer) fake injuries make life tough for kids like you who occasionally get hurt and only fall to the ground because you can't breathe or walk or keep conscious.
Cut your ref a little slack here. Yeah, he was inconsiderate, but he may have had a prior game laced with dropped kids with no apparent injuries.......who knows.

You're welcome! A lot of kids fail to remember that refs are people too.
On the other hand, it was indeed very uncool of the chap to snap at you when you were wondering if you'd ever breathe again.

I do my share of acting, exaggerating more so, to get some calls. It's part of the game, much like taking a charge in basketball, but don't go rolling around or totally faking. You also can't expect to get every slashing, hit from behind call, ect. either.

Remember, that under NCAA rules, taking a dive or pretending to be fouled is illegal procedure.

3PP provides a good perspective and my first thought was that the official in question, while totally insconsiderate, may also be a soccer ref. Personally, I abhor the fact that soccer players roll around like they need a limb amputated. I never say anything like that to a kid, we never know how badly a kid is hurt.
As MElaxRef points out; it is an IP or perhaps an USC (for calling undue attention to oneself) and IMO certainly not "part of the game" as bluestreak614 contends.
If you're truly injured, drop to the ground, let go of your stick, and start taking off your gear. That tells the officials in no uncertain way that you need injury assistance; stop the game ASAP. The T/O won't count against your team.
If you're just crouched over or kneeling w/ all your stuff on, you could just be catching your breath, tying your shoe, looking at a bug in the grass... who knows?

I tend to agree with everything 3PP says here and above. I get quite angry with myself when a player gets really hurt on my watch. It is the referees prime responsibility to protect the players.
However that referee was taking quite a risk by not investigating just that little bit further before he sent you off without assistance.
I hope that in the future he/she will reconsider that kind of quick and ill advised judgment.

I have never had and issue where I was put on the ground, not able to effectively return to my feet and continue, and had a ref tell me to rub it off.
I know there have been instances where I get rattled hard, and get to my feet if I can and stumble off to the side, the fact is, that if you have an opportunity to get up and the ref sees it as so he may let the play continue. I have had knee issues where I slipped, fell and popped my knee and limped off, ref wouldnt stop whistle.
But yeah, I guess its all in the eyes of the refs.
