I currently have a full arm cast on my right (predominant) arm due to a broken wrist. My doctor tells me that if I had been older he would have sent me straight into surgery, but now I'm in a long cast :(. I have an appointment on the 15th of this month to hopefully get a short cast. There are tryouts for my cities travel team the 27th, and I was originally told I would need my cast for a total of 8 weeks and the checkup will mark 4 weeks. I have no idea how that might change after my doctors appointment, but with the current situation what should I do? I am dead set on playing, are there sports casts? Is there something I can do to my cast to allow me to tryout? Also I will probably only have to tryout with my wrist like this sense the first tournie is like june 8th. What should I do?

sorry to put you down but there's absolutely nothing you can do to get back on the field any time sooner until your wrist is completely healed, getting your wrist rebroken or worse can cause major problems down the road and lead to more time out from lacrosse which I'm sure you don't probably want, and there's the fact that there's nothing you can buy that will protect your frajile wrist and I do believe it's in the NCAA lacrosse rules and regulations something about broken bones but I think I'm wrong on that one

No one on this forum has the medical background to give you any advice on the matter. See what you doctor says about whether you should or should not try and play and listen to what he determines. You may not like the outcome, but missing playing time now might not be worth the risk of missing even more because you got your advice off an internet forum rather than a medical professional.
