Hello ladies, my girlfriend has a slow shot and kind of a lobbing pass.

What are some things or pointers I can do to help her improve? She hates the fact that I already mention things, but she's been playing for so long that I just can't believe she is so slow.

Thanks!

you can put weights that can be velcroed on the stick when she is practicing which will force her to shoot the ball at a higher velocity, and other than that i would say just repetition. also you could clock how fast she is shooting it to help see improvement.

strength training...that helped me...assuming her throwing mechanic is correct...

Proper form and lots of reps. Then while she is doing that she can hit the weight room also. Please have her see a strength coach as to what lifts to do.

Agree with all the above. First and foremost is proper form! Find a coach that is really up to date on current throwing/shooting techniques and learn that first. Most girls don't have that down. Then hit the wall! Once proper technique is mastered, she can work on building up strength. Weight room won't help if she has bad technique!

Yes - shot speed in important - but this is second to accuracy. Girls shots in new mostly come from the 8m area.

Wall work is one of the best things that she can do.

For shot practice - put numbers or marks on the wall, low and high where she would expect to be shooting on goal - not where the goalie is. Work on hitting the marks - and repeat and repeat until it become easy.

For passing - same thing - hit the marks, just make the marks un in the area that most passes are caught - waist to shoulder or head high. This is where you can also help - play catch with moving target.

The reps will also help strength. Reps should help form, should also talk to coach improve form

For the passing, make sure she follows through.
If you don't, you'll get a lob or just a ball right in to the dirt.
