I am a Newbie to lacrosse but I have all the basics in movement, passing and shooting but I Can't Catch The Motion that players do with the stick before they pass or take a shot....its kinda of a spin...
Well cant someone tell me how it works.

I know how to Cradle but when the raise the stick when there about to shot or pass the do some type of spin technique

dont worry about it...spinning your stick before shooting is unnecessary watch a good college game, nobody will do it

are you talking about that slight twirling motion before like a crank? If so, I just got used to it, don't do very long though, keeping your stick out longer leaves room for an easy check.

i just quickly twitch my bottom hand to get the ball in the pocket. But never, ever, twirl your stick in a full spin. thats a bad habit

It's not a set motion, every player has their own wind up. You really only use it on time and room shots so its not that important. Work more on your shots on the run.
