So, my team (Ranney Panthers) are an old, yet terribly lousy program. Last year I broke my wrist after the third game. I had 16 goals I believe around that time. Now I'm healthy and have about 15 goals, 6 assists, and 30 groundballs. I'm an attackman but I often switch to midfield when our other star player is tired. We won our last game 15-14 ( I had 8 goals, three assists) and the one before that 11-7 (5 goals 3 assists) It's easy to see that I'm pulling alot of the weight here. Is there anyway I can get the team psyched for game day? They are, but we often lose steam near half-time. Our fourth game is coming up against a very formidable opponent but a winnable game.

This is the same problem that i have. Me and a couple other good guys seem to be the only ones that get pumped up for a game. What can i do to get them psyched up . Im a captain so have to listen to what i say.

same thing here. but unlike crakerjak i'm on a really good team from a great program and our players are still not motivated. its so frustrating when your working your you know what off to win a game and all half of your team cares about is whether or not were gonna have to run more at the next practice b/c we lost. so yea any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yo so for my team I find that our coaches won't really do anything to get us phscyed (sp) but I think you just might have to take matters into your own ahdns and when you're running on and off the field be like, "WOO!! Let's go boys!!!!" and see how your team responds because my team won a nail-biter 4-3 yesterday on pure drive, intensity and heart. Most of that was because we were so phscyed to play that game.

This has killed my team all year, a lack if drive and passion. We've had 4 players quit, our offense is only averaging 4 ppg over the last 8 games. Their probably is on 3-4 guys who come to play on our team every game.

What drives me is knowing someday I could go somewhere playing lacrosse, I know if I don't hustle, then Im not going anywhere, and my parents have to pay for college. Its the drive that someday I could walk on a field with a top
D1 team. The other thing that drives me, is people that don't believe in me. At halftime, you need to do the craziest chear right before you step on the turf.

my team does this pretty cool thing. after all the drills, play running etc, and right before the game, we do this type thing. one person says "oh ya!" and the rest of the team echos it and takes a few steps toward him. do that to more times, than he says it again, we echo, and run into him for a huddle. by now everyone is screaming and echoing oh ya, and jumping and stuff. sounds cheesy, but it pumps you up.

my JV team is good, but everybody talks about eachother, nobody cares, everyone takes it as a joke. we lost to our rivals who are literally a quarter mile down the road (We walk when we play them) and everyone was just laughing and eating brownies like we just won, i wanted to kill them. They're to lost in their stupid conversations to pay attention to the game. I think the reason were so mellow is because our coach plays more varsity drop downs then actual jv kids...The one thing that always gets teams pumped up though, bring some hot chicks? ya know? works for my team. Even though none of them can gett anythingg hah

What the coaches need to do is have a building year and maintain that! Even if they aren't the best you have to have some kids younger(aprox 6). So that they grow passionate about the team and want to carry on the legacy and become undefeated! Coaches this is for you!
