I am a slow sprinter. It also doesnt help that i have average endurance. I was wondering how to get faster, i know to run a lot to get endurence up, but what about speed? Can you teach speed, or am I stuck? I want to be the best player I can, and as Kyle Harrison has said, college coaches are looking for people who can sprint their butts of. What should I do?

if you do squats just below your max and do about 4 sets of ten. make sure you get down to a 90 degree angle to get your thighs tightened up as much as possible. also you can do killers or sprints but make sure you have a ball and a stick to use with it because being fast has no effect on the game if you cant keep the ball in pocket... and as for the endurance factor, just going for long bike rides at a quick pase or running on the tredmill for 10 minutes on level 9 helps too.... the first few days you will be sore as hell but you will get back to normal in less than a week!!! (this is what i had to do to get back into running after i had shin splints.....

To answer your question can speed be taught, yes it can. There are hundreds of different training techniques that you can use to help you pick up a few steps, but I highly reccomend finding a speed place to train you. It may cost a bit more, but ultimately they will get the best result for you. I went to one all off season, and they took roughly .5 seconds off my 40 time and about .5 seconds off my NHL shuttle. They incorporate a mix of weight/plyo training, that focuses mainly on fast twitch muscle fiber and strengthening hip flexor. Skips and dynamic stretches are also a big part of their workout program, but to be honest ther give new drills almost every single session. That is why I reccomend a speed specialist.

I suggest running hills, works a lot on your power and acceleration.
