My opinion:
1 Duke
2 Syracuse
3 Virginia
4 Cornell
5 Georgetown
6 Maryland
7 UNC
8 Navy
9 Army
10 Hopkins

Yes MD lost to Hop, but they still beat GT, UVA, UNC. MD is still a top team.
UNC has beaten Denver, Cornell, NotreDame, and Hopkins.
Navy beat Bucknell, OSU, MD
Army beat Navy, Hofstra
Hopkins even with their losses has W over Princeton, MD......and UMBC...which brings me to my rant of the week...

UMBC...WTH?!?!?!
They have wins over MD, OSU, Denver...along with ranked losses, have also dropped 2 games to non-ranked teams (Delaware, Rutgers). Both decent teams, but if a team loses twice to unranked teams...instead of their losses being a fluke, maybe their W over MD was a fluke...
They deserve a spot in the top 15, but NOT top 10.
The only reason i see that some put UMBC in the top 10, is that it gives Hopkins more credability...
Just like Rush Limbaugh told republicans to vote for Hillary to confuse the democratic nominations, my conspiracy warning is going off that UMBC is only so high to help be a crutch for Hopkins

I know I'm gonna get flamed for the conspiracy part...just a little fun...and even though far fetched...the ONLY reason I can see UMBC being in top 10

I don't agree with the UMBC being so high. It didn't make sense to me how UMBC was so high and UNC got dropped so low.

I don't even think the Nike media poll is accurate anymore.

Also why do coaches think Cuse is better? have they not seen the massive wins Duke has over every single team? (exception the G-town game) I had a thing in another thread where Duke vastly outscoring Cuse in common opponents.

I love how the original post displays the top 11 in the Laxpower poll just so they can put Hopkins in it. If Hopkins was ranked 13 i bet they would have shown the top 13. Give me a break.

If you've read my other threads, I am NOT a fan of Hopkins...(not a complete hater tho)
I DID include them because I know they have been the hot topic of polls this season.
While I don't think they've played deserving of a high ranking, they do have some quality wins...
trust me...if they lost to MD, I would not have included them.

which would be considered the REAL one? like the one that actually sais your ranking?

huh? There is no "real" one. They are all opinions from a group of people. Remember last year how Cornell was undefeated but got the #3 seed and Duke got #1 due to strength of schedual. It's like that. Cornell was ranked one in almost every poll, but when it came time to crack the numbers they came out #3.

I like quint's top 20, I see eye to eye useualy with his judgement.

The "big 3" polls make my gut wrench.

1. Duke
2. Syracuse
3. Virginia
4. Georgetown
5. Cornell
6. Navy
7. Bucknell
8. Army
9. Maryland
10. Notre Dame

Bad weekend by a lot of ranked teams saves a lot of these guys.
Bucknell and Army to me were one big win away from jumping a little higher. Navy is not feeling the love at all from voters.

I think Duke answered the question about who the real No. 1 is at Charlottesville. But it's interesting how tight Duke and Syracuse are in all the polls. I think Navy is definitely top 10, but not quite as high as some have them, and not higher than Army.

1. Duke
2. Syracuse
3. Virginia
4. Cornell
5. Georgetown
6. Maryland
7. Army
8. Navy
9. UMBC
10. Johns Hopkins
