how do you dye a head?

I know there is not a tutorial on how to do this

boil water, cool it down till it simmers and theirs no bubbles, pour in the powder dye. use however much you wnat to get the color you want. leave it in their for a little while, check it frquently so that when it hits that deep, rich color of(whatever you wnat) take it out. let it cool in the fridge or something. This is a very vague tut on how to do it.
