Last night I experienced the most frustrating lacrosse game of my life. I'm playing on a newly formed club team that is anything but talented. What we do have is a talented starting attack line (not to brag) with three experienced players who have definite offensive ability. I play on elite teams throughout the summer and I'm used to having middies do the majority of the work on clears. Last night (our first game), we won almost no ground balls and had very few real possessions, maybe five or so. What I clearly need to get used to is playing a bigger part on getting my team possessions. How can I help with this problem as an attackmen? Thanks for the help.

I'm guessing you want info on your own clears, rather than your riding efforts?
For your own clears, get one middie who is covered tightly to run across the midfield line with his defender. You then run over the line to the guy with the ball: essentially you become a middie. Your dpole will likely be confused and stay on his own side, and it's iffy as to whether the riding middie will switch in time.
With a really bad team, you can sometimes create an offsides situation if they try to double you near midfield.
For rides, pressure the goalie and try to force him to dump to a dpole with bad stick skills rather than getting a middie outlet or just dumping it downfield. If he dumps to the pole, mob him with two guys, forcing another pass or knocking him out if he's a wing. Pressuring bad players to make bad passes wins a lot of rides.

Alright, thanks a lot. I'll mention that to my coach at practice.
