Hey, I Have Been Working On My Shot A Lot Lately, And It Is Pretty Good. But How Can I Find A Time To Shoot?
we run a motion offense based around two triangles. Our attack rotates in a triangle behind the net, and our middies rotate in a triangle with 2 up top, and one on the crease. how can I find the right time to shoot? (I play middie)
Thanks

A shot on the run off a split dodge shouldn't be too hard to muster
As for a time and room shot--you can do one off a skip pass, or 2 quick passes usually
Just make sure you're doing set shots AND shots on the run--with both hands
--Opportunities ought to present themselves--especially if the defense is overplaying you, or your defender is too far out.
That is a very common offensive set, by the way.
It should also be pretty easy to find looks and opportunities on the fast break

Heh.
We run the 1-3-2 Motion Offense as well, though we haven't had any success yet.
Thanks for the tips.I can gun it in there as well, but it's so hectic trying to find the time to shoot

We use give and goes in the motion offense all the time with a lot of success. You must be able to catch a quick pass on the run and shoot equally as fast on the run. If you can do that you will find the ball in the net. Try letting the first middie be the give and cut to the goal and the second middie fills the open space left behind for the open shot.

Yeah, when you cut down to the crease you can look for a quickstick, I usually shoot on sweeps.

yea, if you want opportunities for a shoot, the only way you can really make one by yourself, is by passing and then cutting behind your defender. you can also put a dodge on and shoot on the run. as for time and room shooting, most of the time, those opportunities just present themselves.

We've been running the motion for years and ive found that if you figure out which direction your crease attackman dodges to around the crease stand on the opposite top corner on the midfield. If youre running the motion right you can usually get a good feed from x and get a nice shot on the run.
