Alright, this is my teams first year of lacrosse, and I'm probably one of the top 5, players ( we have 3 that played before )( not to brag ), but I can throw catch and cradle decently with left hand. My only problem is switching, I can't switch fast enough to the point where someone wont hit the ball out of my stick. How can I increase my switching skills, I've tried just like dodging trash cans and stuff roll dodge to switch to lefty but I just cant get it down. Help?

when you play wall ball switch whenever you catch then throw with the hand you didnt catch with. repeat infinity times.

what i do to practice that is jsut grab a ball and pop it up in the air and as soon as it hits the mesh switch your hands as fast as you can. that was how i was able to be able to switch my hands fast

When you're home watching TV or just sitting around, have a stick in your hand and practice switching hands. Just stationary split dodges.

it just takes time and practice. do a lot of reps with your left hand, as many if not more then your right, to get the mechanics of it down. something i did and something i tell my kids to help them, is by starting slow and building from there. once you can do things pretty well, start picking up speed with every set of reps. it will come, but it's going to take a little time. keep at it!

Practice a split dodge like gary gait shows in the very beginning of this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ouGPyw1WRw0) (I think he knows what he's doing) as quickly as you can, over and over again in practice and at home.

Practice cradle, switch, cradle, again and again and you should have it down in no time.

and whenever you're throwing with your friends, throw right, catch right, switch, throw left, catch left, switch, throw right, etc... throw and catch, but switch hands every time you get the ball...

also try sliding your bottom hand up... and work on kind of "throwing your sword into the scabbard." if you know what i'm saying... like a swordsmans scabbard, on his hip where he keeps his sword. just push your stick down with your right hand, and slide your left hand to the top... then replace your right on the bottom...

if i can't make a split dodge in time then I'll just roll and that gives me enough time to switch hands without worrying about the defense hitting my stick because it's covered by my body
