I would be extremely suprised if Safeway didnt cary RIT Dyes. Just do a nice fade or something. Put glitter in the gold dye, so you sparkle! THAT WOULD BE SO COOL. BLING BLING lax stick!

Yea, just do it how you normally would but put most of the glue at the throat of the stick. Reverse the glue, that's all.

no. They do not have an illusionistic design. THey may have a splatter fade, but not an illusionistic dye. That is MY name for it.

you should get some royal blue dye also. If you use a package of navy blue and a package of royal it should be good, dark. If you want lighter, use the whole package of royal, and 12/-3/4 of the package of navy. Don't underestimate navy, it acts a lot like black. Adding it to anything will drastically change the color. SO don't go overboard. My advice: make the dye with a package of royal blue and a quarter of a package of navy. Dye the head, and decide what you want. If you want darker, then add more navy. Then dye again. That way, you'll get the color you want, plus with the redyes the dye is more likely to stay in the head and not fade because the plastic has absorbed more of it. If you dye it the first time and you want it lighter, get some rit dye remover and lighten it up. If it gets too light, dye it again, but for either a shorter amount of time or a lower temperature this time. The hotter the dye, the darker the color because the head will absorb more dye when it's hot.

this is the color you get when you use 1 package of royal blue and leave it in for a while
I guess I could ask some questions in here
1. When saving the dye, when you want to reuse the dye how much more dye do you guys usually use? and what works best? Right now I only have powder so thats what im going to use, if I save it and bought liquid the next time how much more of it should I add, and if I bought powder how much?
2. When using powder to mix together for the blue on the Patriotic Explosion on laxnation.com (http://laxnation.com/home/displayarticle.php?category=dying&title=patriotic&articleid=181) how much powder should I use of each?
3. What letters are those that he used? if anyone knows, or if you know good letters to use
4. When putting on stickers after I blowdry it, should i put alot of glue on them to keep them from getting dyed red? I just want to keep them white
5. When glueing a stick, should I wait a while for the glue to dry or should I glue it and go?

ok, for saving dye, I usually save a 1 gallon jug of dye. When I boil it again, I add maybe like 2 tablespoons of liquid dye, tops. Maybe like 1/5 of a package of powder. for powder, mix in a 3:2 ratio also for the royal blue to navy, or just follow the instructions I just gave above. For the letters, I made them myself out of electrical tape. They suck. If you want to find letters, check out staples. Just plain scrapbooking letters work well, that's what I've been using lately. As far as blowdrying/glue/whatever goes, a lot of it is just do as much as you can and hope for the best. I personally have had good luck putting the stickers on and then blow drying them on high heat for about 10 minutes. Push them down about once every minute. As glue is concerned, I'm not really sure what you mean by your comment. If you are doing just plain letters, you don't need any glue at all. If you are doing outlined letters like that in the "cut-out dye" also on laxnation, you'll want to glue the part around the sticker to make sure that no dye seeps onto the side of it.Also, when doing stickers, don't make the dye too hot. If it gets too hot, the heat will help to seperate the sticker from the head and it won't turn out well. And for the glue, it all depends on what kind of glue you have. Using hot glue that is vari-temp or whatever it is, I would say you should glue it, then wait about 10 minutes after you're done and then go. It should be completely dry by then, since hot glue only takes around 30 seconds to dry anyways.
have any other questions, feel free to post here or e-mail me at bdoscher@laxnation.com . I'm the one who did the patriotic explosion and almost all the other dyes on LN.
