Like the title says I'm a noob and having problems with my dodge. I have the footwork down its just when I go to switch hands on say a face dodge the ball flys out. I cradle with both hands then when I bring the stick up vertical and across my face I lose the ball. Same thing when I do a split dodge.

yeah, don't do that, you don't really cradle when you switch hands. for the face down you just pull the stick across your body and when you split you do the same thing just while switching hands then cradle when the dodge is done

You're either hitting your legs/body or you're stopping/pausing your cradle when you move (common with guys who are fast at roll or split dodging, but poor cradlers). Your cradle has to flow with your movement. When you move left, your cradle should swing the back of the pocket towards the left. If they're mistimed, and the back of your pocket faces right when you move left, the ball flies out.
We have two really fast dodging players with this problem on our HS team.
To beat it you have to get familiar with the stick: Play with the stick at home (you can do this standing in place to some degree). Practice switching hands quickly, dodging your upper body back and worth while cradling in place. Do it with a tennis ball to get better at it. The lighter weight makes it easier to drop out. If you can do it with a light ball, the weight of a denser ball will be even easier to control.
