Hey guys. I am pretty new to the sport, and am looking for a good quality stick. What are your recomendations?

for a first timer the AV8 by STX that will be you best bet. its only 30 bucks. but a good buy.

I'll second that, the av8 is a great stick. I used one at camp in the summer and it's exactly like the proton.

The Icon is supposedly a really good begginers stick as well.

The AV8 is probably our best seller for beginners. It isn't a bad head and a good deal for the beginner. You can check out EBAY if you're into that sort of thing and sometimes you can find really good deals on stuff there too. Also, if your just starting out avoid the temptation to go for a Powell Pocket of 6 Diamond or any of the other things some of these guys recomend. Fight the urge and instead go for the soft string for your first year out. It is way easier in all aspects and most AV8s come strung that way anyway.
