when you take a visit with a school and you meet the team, meet the coach, and then you have an interview with admissions and get a tour and all that what should you wear? you don't want to look sloppy in front of the admissions counselor, but you don't want to look like a real dressy wierd kid in front of the team..

Yeah I mean... I wore a button up dress shirt with like a sweater over it and nice shoes and Jeans. Just look fresh bro 'cause chances are the team is gonna take you out to a party and you'll more than likely meet some sweet college chicks.

You'll enjoy the college visit bro, Mine were alot of fun.

look presentable... but be yourself... dont get all uptight about it... the coach wants to know what YOU are like... not what you think he wants you to be like...

You planning on staying over?

If so bring some stuff listed about for the visit. I wore jeans, and a button down shirt. Also, pack some clothes for that night. Odds are, the team is going to take you out, given they don't have anything going on the next day, so be prepared for that as well.

we usually call all of that "business casual," polo and khakis (roll with that).
But, like Eclipse said, bring other stuff if you're staying longer.

Don't be flashy, don't show excess, don't act like a punk who is the god of lacrosse and it would be a sin to deny you on his team...

Instead, get a nice dress shirt (I'd reccomend a very nice black or dark blue +90% cotton shirt, I get mine at Nordstrom's for like $35. Wear either a light tan or beige or light brown slacks. Wear good dress shoes, simple black leathers are fine. This is an interview/meeting, if he sees you looking good he's going to immediately know you mean business.

Ask your guidance counsellor, not TLF! If your guidance counsellor is earning his/her salary, they know exactly how you should dress for your college interview.

That said, here's advice from an old guy - about the age of the people you'll be interviewing with...

Why not khaki or grey slacks, belt, a dress shirt, tie, blazer, socks, loafers?

Lose the tie and blazer when you meet the team.

You will never offend anyone by wearing that outfit. Many teams have traveling dress codes anyways. The coach would rather see a person who is respectful than an "individual" who may require special attention. Your recruiting tape (or the scouts who have seen you) and your transcript will be what distinguishes you; it should not be your clothing.

Dressing "up" is a sign of respect to the admissions office, who really has no interest in how cool or stylish you are. Jeans are not "dress."

Good luck.

when i went on mine the coach said to bring a tie for the admissions interview. he liked his recruits to look presentable for the people reading your applications.

its not like youre gonna wear one outfit the whole time youre there. bring jeans and tshirts and stuff for going out with the team later.
