Alright. For the last two games we played, I started, but coaches say ive got to be more agressive. The only problem is, im afraid that ill mess up, like today where i couldve taken a shot, i hesistated, turned away trying to get a better clear, but the goal was open. Does anyone have any advice on being more agressive, or overcoming fear of making mistakes.

well by not taking the chance, that in itself is a mistake.

remember: you miss 100% of the shots you don't take. lol but seriously.

anyways, just remember it's not the end of the world if you mess up, and your coach will be glad if you take a shot that is clear to the goal, just play like you do in practice when your having fun and confident

Just calm down (or psych up, whatever works for you), get your head in the game, and get in the zone.

psyching up works better, it keeps me on my toes and agressive, but i cant seem to do it. I like quiet, while listening to music to psych up, but i dont have any music players

You can't possibly score without attempting to shoot the ball....Take some chances. If you miss, put everything you have in you to ride the Defense, and get YOUR ball back. Coaches will like to see that you are a risk-taker.

And I think that aggressiveness and confidence go hand-in-hand with each other. The more chances you take, the more good things will happen, and your confidence will gradually increase while playing in games. And when you have more confidence in your lacrosse skills, you WILL become more aggressive during games.

My coach prefers that I make an error as a result of playing hard as opposed to making a mistake, because I was hesitant.
