Placement of U pocket

I just strung my revo pro with catapultion mesh from jimalax. I put a U and two straight across. I was wandering if i should put the pocket right behind the U or a little bit further back?

little bit of whip, just enough so i feel the ball come out

Make the pocket so that the ball lies within the U, if that makes sense. Like it is surrounded by the U. That will give a little whip.

Should the ball be touching the shooting string when it is in the pocket?

No, it should be inside of the U.
